The 5 Best Places to Use QR Codes for Real Estate

Earlier this month we talked about what using QR codes says about your real estate business. We discussed what you can learn from the person using your QR codes, and what they can learn about you and your business. In this segment, we’re going to discuss where to use QR codes for real estate to reap the most benefit and reach buyers where they are. Let’s get to it!

1. Lawn Signs
This is the most obvious location to place a QR code. The sign is in front of the house telling everyone it’s for sale, so placing a QR code here makes perfect sense. When an interested buyer with a smartphone sees the for sale sign, all they have to do is scan the QR code and voila! They receive important information about the property (price, interior photos, community info, etc.) that will help them determine if they want to pursue it further.

2. Business Cards
This strategy is a little tricky – not tricky-hard, just different. Place a QR code on the back of your business card. Instead of having that QR code go to your website, create a Youtube video that thanks a buyer for scanning the code on the back of your card. Offer information like your Facebook Page, Twitter account, and your blog to show them you’re willing to connect where they want to connect. Be sure to let them know that when they’re ready to buy or sell, you’re ready to help them with all the latest technology both online and off.

3. Direct Mail
When you send mailings to potential buyers and/or sellers, be sure to include a QR code that goes to either your website or a video. The idea here is to get your name out there (branding) and let buyers and sellers know that you use all the latest technology – both online and off – to do business. If you make a video, you may want to make it geared toward a specific location and target only those looking to buy or sell in that area. Make sure you include all of your contact information (social media URLs, phone number, etc.) to people can get in touch with you in the way they prefer.

4. Property Flyers
Given that much of the property listing information is already included in a property flyer, this is a great opportunity to promote your PropertybyText listing page. Space is limited on property flyers, so adding a QR code to the it that leads buyers to your PropertybyText detailed listing allows you to provide more information and photos about the property.

5. Your Vehicle
Yes, place a QR code on your vehicle – and here’s why. You probably already have your contact and website information on your car, but what if you could provide even more information to your clients just by adding a QR code? This concept works on the same premise as the business card one listed above. You simply make a video thanking visitors for taking the time to scan the QR code on your car. Let them know when they’re ready to buy or sell, you’re the tech-savvy real estate professional they need.

Now that you know some of the best places to put QR codes to maximize your reach, it’s time to get out there and do it. offers QR codes as well as many other services for real estate professionals to help you increase sales and generate leads to make your job much easier.
